Dear St. Catherine Parish Family,
Yesterday, Archbishop Gregory published a list of priests, deacons, seminarians, and religious in the Archdiocese of Atlanta with credible allegations of sexual abuse of minors covering the period from 1956 to the present. I applaud the archbishop for this action which I believe demonstrates his desire for transparency and an effort to further the process of healing for victims of abuse in the archdiocese. You can click this link to view the list.
It is important to note that the vast majority of the allegations are decades old, and that there are no clergy currently in active ministry with credible allegations of abuse. Nonetheless, the damage and pain caused by these men persists in their victims to this day. I invite you to join me in continuing to pray for all those who have been hurt in any way by clergy or Church staff and to demand ongoing transparency and accountability from Church leaders in order that the Church may truly be purified from this scourge of sexual abuse.
